This past July, I photographed my friends Jody & Ben’s wedding in Edmonton.  I have known J&B for almost 4 years now and we’ve been good friends ever since.  J&B have been together for 13 years so it was only a matter of time before they got married.  I’ve been looking forward to this wedding since last year when they got engaged.  It was only my second Edmonton wedding photography coverage this year.  Ryan drove up from Calgary to cover Jody and her bridesmaids at Chrome Spa and Salon on the northside in the morning.  I still don’t know how Ryan was able to get up at 7am and drive the QE for 2.5 hours.  When I was done covering the boys at the best man’s home, I went to Jody’s sister’s home where she was getting ready.  I got there before Jody did and when she came home I was in shock.  I could not believe how gorgeous Jody looked!  And she wasn’t even in her dress yet.  The night before when were having drinks at Brewsters, Jody tried to explain how her dress looked and how the veil and dress was detailed with stunning Swarovski crystals.  I couldn’t wait to see her in her dress and when she came out I was not disappointed.  I couldn’t wait to start shooting!  After the bridal prep shots, we went over the chapel where the ceremony was.  But it was after that when we had all our fun creating photos. We stayed around the Mirage Banquet Hall where the reception was taking place.  We got lots of good stuff and they were troopers posing for photos in 33 degree heat.  It was so worth it!!  I did a same day slide show for J&B and here are some photos that were done for the slide show.  There are lots more, but these are the best of the best.   Enjoy.  And congrats again to you guys.  You both are awesome, I love you guys and I wish nothing but the best for you guys.

Now that Helen and Davide are back in Edmonton from their NYC honeymoon, I can finally share some more of their wedding photos.  I love weddings where the bride and groom are from completely different ethnic backgrounds.  To see how both cultures come together for the love and unity of 2 people is a wonderful experience.  The day started with us at Davide’s beautiful home in Sherwood Park, near Edmonton, where we did his prep photography.  After that, my assistant Ryan and I headed to St. Joseph’s College Cathedral on the University of Alberta campus, where the ceremony was taking place.  We eventually found Helen hiding in the back room and we took advantage of that time to get some nice photos of Helen.

The ceremony was nice and intimate and when it was done, it was time to have some fun.  We found an awesome parkade and went to the roof to shoot.  There is construction going on, on the campus, so I had a cool skyline to work with.  We played around on the campus finishing off more wedding photography before we headed to Union Bank Inn in downtown Edmonton for the reception.

Ceremony Location:  St. Joseph’s College Cathedral, University of Alberta

Reception:  Union Bank Inn, Edmonton, AB

Hi everyone. Valerie at Photography and Design Blog asked me if I was interested in doing an interview for her website. Of course I obliged!!  Make sure you checked out.

I’m sitting here in Edmonton getting ready for a busy weekend. On the way up, I stopped in Red Deer to see Erin & Paul, who’s wedding I am shooting in May. Erin had to go back to work after a quick chat, so Paul and I went scouting around Red Deer for some potential locations for their wedding day photography. I definitely saw a lot that I liked and I got so many ideas running through my head.  It was also very nice to get to know Paul a little better.

Tomorrow I will be meeting with 2 more couples and after that I am off to shoot Helen and Davide’s engagement session. We will be shooting in Edmonton’s downtown, so that should be a lot of fun and a new challenge for me.  Sunday I will be meeting Kim and Ryan for the first time. They booked me over the phone not too long ago, so I am excited to meet them. We be shooting their wedding photos in the Banff Area this summer.  Should be HOT!

Thanks to everyone who has emailed about the workshop.  I have had a lot of interest and I am so excited that it might fill.  I have 5 people pretty much locked in, so if you want to get in on this, don’t procrastinate too long.  $375 holds your spot for the workshop.

Janice & Michael’s wedding was perfect.  For being in October, Janice was really worried her outdoor ceremony would be too cold, snowing or raining.  Well, none of that happened!  It was a warm 23 degrees and nobody could have asked for anything better than that.  There was already lots of energy when I had arrived at the house to shoot her prep.  Everyone was in great spirits and the anticipation was building.  The ceremony and reception was held at the private beautiful Edmonton Golf & Country Club.  Autumn was in full bloom as there was yellows and reds everywhere!  Janice and Mike did a good job with their flowers as it felt very autumnish.  We managed we borrow some golf carts so we could get to different shooting locations later.  Who knew the golf carts would be so much fun.  We got some awesome photos while playing around in them.  They also had some of the best prime rib I have ever had at the reception, I won’t soon forget that!  Have a fantastic honeymoon in Hawaii guys!  Thank you for having me be a part of your day.  I will always remember your wedding and your enthusiasm.

P.S.  Don’t forget that I have added this wedding to the main website under “their stories”.  Check it out!
