Shalini & Paul’s Engagement Session by Calgary Engagement Photographers: JT Images

Shalini & Paul getting are married in less than a month. They wanted to do some engagement photos in locations that were significant to them. Craft Beer Market was gracious enough to allow us to shoot everywhere in their restaurant. I am a huge fan of Craft, mainly because I am a huge fan of beer. Their food is fantastic too! Now I am an even bigger fan for allowing us to do our session there. Shal and Paul had their first date here so they were pretty pumped that they got to have their photos done here. After our shoot at Craft, we headed up to Crescent Heights.

We did a second day of shooting our in Banff, where they got engaged. We were hoping for a sunny warm day but we got the opposite. But, you know…. it worked out probably even better!!

Alicia & Ray, Just Us Session, Calgary Photographers

Alicia & Ray had Just Us Session with me here in Calgary. They are already married but wanted some photos of themselves done by yours truly. I am always more than happy to work for couples who want me to photograph them! We had a ton of fun shooting on this day. We had to reschedule due to weather, but we did finally get a nice day. We started at Olympic Plaza and stayed around downtown for the rest of the session.

Introducing Rhonda and Marvin’s Calgary Engagement Photography session.

On this day, I had just got back from Hawaii and was totally not ready for the Calgary autumn weather that greeted me. I never felt so cold in life!! But that didn’t stop Rhonda, Marvin and I from getting this engagement session done! We headed down to Fish Creek Park and rocked out an awesome session, considering the conditions we had to deal with. The 2 are getting married later this month.

I would like to introduce you Laura and Mike. We had a great session last Sunday afternoon even though thundershowers were in the forecast. We got out to an older industrial part of Calgary where we found stacks of tires, vintage vehicle, shipping containers and even a forklift. Talk about hitting pay dirt for this photographer! The best part was there wasn’t a single soul around except for us. These 2 rocked their session and we got tons of great photos. Here are just a few of my many favorites. We can’t wait to head out to Waskesiu Saskatchewan to photograph their wedding in August.

Here are Christina and Justin. We had quite a fun afternoon shooting this engagement session. We started at the Calgary Zoo’s Butterfly Conservatory where Justin proposed to Christina. They wanted to go back to the exact spot where Justin got down on one knee and proposed. Afterwards, we headed to Scotsman’s Hill to take advantage of the city view and the beautiful Elbow River. Sometimes you meet people who are obviously meant for each other. Christina and Justin are exactly that. I am really looking forward to their wedding day in October. Brandie & Matt are getting in February 2013. They wanted to use the photos from their session, to make some unique wedding invitations, for the big day at the Palliser Hotel here in Calgary. Matt said he wanted the session downtown where they both work and live. Downtown Calgary is definitely tops on my list of places to shoot engagement session photos. As a wedding photographer, I love all the compositional opportunities that downtown provides. I was more than happy to oblige as I always do for my clients. I had yet to shoot anything on the Peace Bridge so we knew that was going to be a spot we would have to go to. We had a great session together. It’s always turns out great when couples are this good looking and are so into each other. Check back in February for their wedding photos.

I love these 2. I think we are really going to make some special photos on their wedding day in July. From the moment Ryan and I started shooting, there was a connection that I saw that was so real. Joe emailed me a few times before the engagement session asking if we could do something cool like shoot at an airport. I knew that Calgary International would be out of the question, so I contacted the Springbank Airfield and he contacted the Okotoks Airpark. Okotoks Airpark said yes to Joe and so we went! It was a very nice spring evening with awesome light and took had a blast capturing these 2 connect. Image number 3 was taken by Ryan.

I had met Alma and Conven at a couple of their friend’s weddings that I had photographed. So I was thrilled when they called me to tell me they wanted to book me for their wedding! These 2 are getting married at the Alberta Art Gallery in Edmonton and I can’t wait to shoot them there. We had a blast with this e-session that Ryan and I photographed. We headed out to a ghost town called Dorothy and photographed around the church. After that we drove just a few clicks down the road to use some of the spectacular scenery in the badlands. I have a lot of favorites from this engagement session, these are just a few of them.

I would like to introduce everyone to Tham & Vi. Tham came to me after seeing photos from 2 of her friend’s wedding that I photographed in Edmonton and Calgary. Of course I was more than happy to oblige them with an engagement session. We took advantage of the beautiful fall colors in Fish Creek park in SW Calgary. This was an audition of sorts because these love birds are getting married in Costa Rica next year!! I am glad you guys love your e-session. I hope to work with you both again in the near future!
