Cathy called me up last year to book me for her wedding, which is happening tomorrow!! She wanted a fall e-session, which I was more than happy to oblige. We headed down to Eau Claire, and there were tons of leaves on the ground. I sure sign old man winter was coming. Steve noticed my sneakers and asked if I was a collector! Good eye, Steve! I put off posting their engagement photos because if a possible re-shoot which didn’t happen. So with no further ado, here are tomorrow’s newlyweds!

Herpal & Baaj – Just Us Session

July 6th, 2008

The very first wedding I ever shot was in 2004. I used a Nikon N70 loaded with fuji reala film. Although my photos may have been laughable at the time, Baaj and Herpal didn’t seem to mind. Maybe it was because we’re friends. It was them who allowed me to get my feet wet with [...]

Maybe it was because we’re friends. It was them who allowed me to get my feet wet with wedding photography and that’s when the passion was lit for me. Baaj and I go way back. Like 1986 way back. We’ve been friends since the second grade and have remained friends ever since. He’s the only person that I have been friends with that long. I wanted to repay them for helping me discover this wonderful career. And of course congratulations on your exciting news! I’ll book you in for February, when the new addition comes :)

Tiffany and Rob are getting married at the end of the month. Their wedding is at Rafter Six Ranch near Kananaskis. Our e-session was really fun. Rob wanted an urban look to the photos since the wedding is taking place in a mountain country setting. We walked around downtown for a while look for cool places to shoot and found plenty to work with. I am very excited to make beautiful images with you guys at Rafter Six. It’s going to be a blast!

Julie & Ray e-session: APMs

June 9th, 2008

What is APM?? How about “almost professional models”. The reason why these guys aren’t, is because they paid me and not the other way around! Julie and Ray know how to strut their stuff making it soooo fun and easy to shoot them. I wanted a different feel for this engagement and Ray recommended going [...]

What is APM?? How about “almost professional models”. The reason why these guys aren’t, is because they paid me and not the other way around! Julie and Ray know how to strut their stuff making it soooo fun and easy to shoot them. I wanted a different feel for this engagement and Ray recommended going out to the mountains. The weather here has been nothing but craptastic with all the rain. As we headed west we were trying to decide if we wanted to turn around because it was pouring. We took an exit and drove under the Trans-Canada. Ray says, “what about here?”. I looked out the window and yelled, “yes! Stop the car!” Under the bridge is where we got our first few awesome shots. As the rain settled we ventured out and did more shots. Then it started to rain AGAIN! We decide to keep heading west this time since the rain was moving east. We went down the highway that takes you to Kananaskis where we ended up finishing the day at Barrier lake. I hope hoping the glacial silt there would have gave us a nice blue lake, but with all the rain the lake had a green color to it. Add the dramatic skies, awesome APM clients and the beautiful mountains setting, made it easy for me to make wonderful images. I can’t wait till your wedding in July. It’s gonna be nuts!

Athyna & Jon | Calgary Engagement Pictures

June 9th, 2008

Athyna is still the only person to date that has found me in the yellow pages, after 2 years of advertising with them. I didn’t get very good value for my money, however if I hadn’t done it, I never would have met Athyna and Jon. They came to see last September to book me. [...]

Athyna is still the only person to date that has found me in the yellow pages, after 2 years of advertising with them. I didn’t get very good value for my money, however if I hadn’t done it, I never would have met Athyna and Jon. They came to see last September to book me. I thought we were just going to discuss what I can do for her and and try sell myself. But Athyna came in with a deposit check already filled out. I felt so flattered someone would think so highly of my work, that they would book me without getting to know me first. In return, I would not disappoint them. We shot their engagement session on Athyna’s family ranch near Spruce Meadows. They had thousands of acres and old farm machinery to make a wonderful setting for photos.
