Vendredi and Vinh’s wedding is my last wedding of this year.  What a perfect couple of people to wrap my year with too.  I’ve known Vendredi since our days in high school.  The wedding is going to be a bit of a reunion so I can’t wait!  We headed down to my favorite park in the city, Fish Creek.  I wanted to take advantage of the fall colors before it was gone.  We had a super fun session.  I can’t wait to hang out with you guys on the big day!!

I would like to introduce you Laura and Mike.  We had a great session last Sunday afternoon even though thundershowers were in the forecast.  We got out to an older industrial part of Calgary where we found stacks of tires, vintage vehicle, shipping containers and even a forklift.  Talk about hitting pay dirt for this photographer!  The best part was there wasn’t a single soul around except for us.  These 2 rocked their session and we got tons of great photos.  Here are just a few of my many favorites.  We can’t wait to head out to Waskesiu Saskatchewan to photograph their wedding in August.

I would like to introduce you to Aminder and Jatinder.  Their wedding is less than a month away and I can’t wait for this one.  It’s going to be a 3 day coverage so we are bound to get a lot of awesome photos of them.  For this engagement session, I asked them to meet me at Bowness Park in NW Calgary.  It had been raining for the past few days so we weren’t sure what kind of conditions we would have.  Rescheduling was not an option, because Jatinder works for Microsoft in Seattle.  He flew in to get some wedding stuff done including the session with his fiance Aminder.  Well, the day turned out perfect for us and we couldn’t have asked for a better day.

Here are Christina and Justin.  We had quite a fun afternoon shooting this engagement session.  We started at the Calgary Zoo’s Butterfly Conservatory where Justin proposed to Christina.  They wanted to go back to the exact spot where Justin got down on one knee and proposed.  Afterwards, we headed to Scotsman’s Hill to take advantage of the city view and the beautiful Elbow River.  Sometimes you meet people who are obviously meant for each other.  Christina and Justin are exactly that.  I am really looking forward to their wedding day in October.  Check back then to see highlights from their wedding.

Britni and Eric asked me if I could shoot their engagement session in the mountains with their dog Keira.  Of course I obliged and said Kananaskis would be best since the town of Banff now requires out of town photographers to have a local Banff business license to shoot in their town.  We headed out hoping the rain would stay away and it did.  We had a great session along highway 40 by stopping at various interesting points along the way.  These 2 are getting married at the end of this month which officially kicks off my 2012 wedding season.  I can’t wait to get started this year and no better couple to shoot first than these 2, who looks absolutely great together!  Eric, by the way, is a dog trainer and an impressive one at that.  Check out his Calgary business called Pawsitively Natural Daycare and Training Academy if you have dog training or daycare needs.  I just had to plug his business because what he does is so damn cool!

Brandie & Matt are getting in February 2013.  They wanted to use the photos from their session, to make some unique wedding invitations, for the big day at the Palliser Hotel here in Calgary.  Matt said he wanted the session downtown where they both work and live.  Downtown Calgary is definitely tops on my list of places to shoot engagement session photos.  As a wedding photographer, I love all the compositional opportunities that downtown provides. I was more than happy to oblige as I always do for my clients.  I had yet to shoot anything on the Peace Bridge so we knew that was going to be a spot we would have to go to.  We had a great session together.  It’s always turns out great when couples are this good looking and are so into each other.  Check back in February for their wedding photos.

I love these 2.  I think we are really going to make some special photos on their wedding day in July.  From the moment Ryan and I started shooting, there was a connection that I saw that was so real.  Joe emailed me a few times before the engagement session asking if we could do something cool like shoot at an airport.  I knew that Calgary International would be out of the question, so I contacted the Springbank Airfield and he contacted the Okotoks Airpark.  Okotoks Airpark said yes to Joe and so we went!  It was a very nice spring evening with awesome light and took had a blast capturing these 2 connect.  Image number  3 was taken by Ryan.

I had met Alma and Conven at a couple of their friend’s weddings that I had photographed.  So I was thrilled when they called me to tell me they wanted to book me for their wedding!  These 2 are getting married at the Alberta Art Gallery in Edmonton and I can’t wait to shoot them there.  We had a blast with this e-session that Ryan and I photographed.  We headed out to a ghost town called Dorothy and photographed around the church.  After that we drove just a few clicks down the road to use some of the spectacular scenery in the badlands.  I have a lot of favorites from this engagement session, these are just a few of them.

I would like to introduce everyone to Tham & Vi.  Tham came to me after seeing photos from 2 of her friend’s wedding that I photographed in Edmonton and Calgary.  Of course I was more than happy to oblige them with an engagement session.  We took advantage of the beautiful fall colors in Fish Creek park in SW Calgary.  This was an audition of sorts because these love birds are getting married in Costa Rica next year!!  I am glad you guys love your e-session.  I hope to work with you both again in the near future!
