Jennifer & Paul | Sneak Peek

Here a couple photos of Jennifer and Paul who had their wedding near De Winton just south of Calgary.  Paul and I go way back and there’s lots of history with us.  More of that when their full wedding set is ready for the blog.  For now, enjoy these 2 shots.  We got some really good stuff of these 2, plus we debut our HootBooth at their wedding.  A user controlled photo booth that the guests used and took hundreds of hilarious photos.

Dani & Jon |Silvertip Canmore, AB | Sneak Peek

Ryan and I shot a fabulous wedding at Canmore’s stunning Silvertip Golf and Resort.  As soon as the ceremony started,  the white stuff started falling and it was quite magical!  You just never know what you will get when it comes to weather in the mountains.  Here’s are 2 teaser images to kick off the 2010 wedding season!

Introducing Jen & Jason – Calgary Engagement Photos

Meet Jen and Jason!  Jen and Jason are a super cool couple and are totally down to earth.  We had some fun at a Flames game earlier this year, so it was nice to finally see them again.

We had an awesome time doing their engagement photos down by the Elbow River near downtown Calgary.  We found some interesting places to stop and shoot some photos.  Afterwards we ventured over to warehouse district to shoot some more and ended up at the Arriva building as the weather started to turn on us.  The security guard there graciously allowed us to shoot inside the building.

Their wedding is at the end of June and from the sounds of it, it’s going to be one heck of a celebration!

Introducing Amber & Aaron | Calgary Engagement Photography

Introducing Amber and Aaron!  Aaron found me hanging out on my favorite Flames forum called Calgarypuck.  At first Amber wasn’t sure if a hockey forum was the right place to be looking for a wedding photographer in Calgary.  Good thing for me, Amber liked my work.  A&A both really wanted have a few photos taken on the carousel at Chinook Mall.  We eventually ended our shoot at a Tim Horton’s, the company Amber is a lawyer for.  She figured her fellow co-workers would get a kick out of seeing a few photos of her in front of a Tim Horton’s.

Amber and Aaron will probably have one of the more extravagant weddings this year that I will have the honor of covering.  They are getting married at the Palliser with a Cirque du Soleil themed wedding.  Yes, you can let your imagination run wild with this one.  There will be performers!  Did I ever mention, I love my job?  I am so excited about their wedding and I can’t wait for June 12th!

Yours truly interviewed by DWF

I just wanted everyone to know, DWF recently asked to feature me on their blog.  I was more than happy to allow them to do that ;)  If you wanted to know a little more about me, then go check it out!  Digital Wedding Forum Blog

Christina and Lenny in the Badlands | Calgary Engagement Photography

Christina and Lenny came to me in September about photography for their wedding that was going to be held in Toronto.  Unfortunately for them, I was already booked for their date.  They both are Torontonian transplants who haven’t been in Calgary for very long.  Their first impressions of Calgarians was that we are super friendly.  Too friendly to the point they weren’t sure if people were just faking it not.  After a 1 and a half years here, they now know that we are truly super friendly.  It’s just the way it is here out west.

Because I couldn’t do their wedding photography, Christina came back to me and asked if we could do an engagement session around Calgary.  I was more than happy to do something for them.  They mostly loved of my fashion inspired work, so I told them we could shoot somewhere unique instead of inside Calgary.  At first they wanted to head west towards the mountains, but I suggested we head east to the badlands instead.  Of course they were both up for that.  Christina asked me what they should wear and I said “just look pimp”.   Needless to say, they showed up really pimped out and I couldn’t wait to get started.

I wish you both an awesome wedding in Toronto.  I really wished I could have been a part of it, but I am still glad you wanted to do a session with me, otherwise we never would have met.  You both are an awesome couple and I know your big day is going to be amazing.  Congrats on your upcoming wedding.  I hope you love your photos as much as I loved making them for you!  Don’t be a stranger!

Christina & Lenny’s e-session sneak peek!

Rarely do I do a sneak peek of an engagement session, but I had to share this photo right now!!  As soon I got home from the session I knew I had to work on it right away.  We had our session in the badlands in Drumheller, AB, 75 minutes east of Calgary.  There will be more from this hot session later this week.  For now here’s one, enjoy!!

Jenn’s Maternity Session | Calgary Photographers

You might remember Jenn from last summer.  I photographed Jenn & Khang’s wedding on Lake Chestemere just west of Calgary.  Now, her and Khang are having their first baby sometime next month.  Jenn asked me to come take some maternity photos of her, and of course I said yes.  Once the wedding is over, the relationships I have with my clients never end.  I hope to be their photographer for all the special moments.  You can bet I will be there when baby comes home from the hospital as well to create more memories.

Albums, albums, albums!

This past week I had 4 awesome albums arrive from Finao and I had to take some photos to show all of you.  One album was Sowon and Dean’s whose wedding I did the photography for in Edmonton.  Another album has been shipped off to Amsterdam in the Netherlands for Jillian and Rob who had their destination wedding in beautiful Banff.  I took drive around Calgary and hand delivered Crystal and Ali’s and Jenn and Khang’s wedding album to them personally.  There’s nothing better than when a couple sees their finished album for the first time.  These albums are the end product of all the hard work we put into the photography.  From the minute the client meets me for a consultation, I show them and tell them how important an album is and how it will last a life time.  Sometimes it’s hard for people to imagine or understand what I mean, until they see their own album in their hands.  That’s when they realized the money they invested into me becomes priceless.

With so many cover options that I can offer with Finao, every wedding album is unique.  Every couple chooses different covers and leathers that fit their style and leave the design to me!

PiK | Calgary Hip Hop Artist | Sobriety Sux releases 4.20.10

Once in a while I do photos for local musicians or bands here in Calgary, because I am a music lover, and I love musicians.  I guess deep down inside, I wish I could do what they do.  I have been working with PiK’s crew every since I started my photography career.  A few times a year someone from the crew needs new photos done for promo or for their album and I am always willing to shoot these guys.  PiK gave me a copy of his upcoming album, “Sobriety Sux” due to release on 4/20.  It is one of the best album I have heard him do.  It’s only a matter of time before he gets discovered, because his stuff is honestly as good, if not better than what is out there right now.  Here are a couple photos from our shoot.  The theme was a rehab clinic for musicians addicted to well, making and listening to music.  We were lucky enough to get permission from the University of Calgary to shoot on their campus which really suited our needs.   When they album gets released I will make sure I let all you hip hop fans know where to pick it up to support PiK.
