Alicia & Ray,  Just Us Session, Calgary Photographers

Alicia & Ray had Just Us Session with me here in Calgary.  They are already married but wanted some photos of themselves done by yours truly.  I am always more than happy to work for couples who want me to photograph them!  We had a ton of fun shooting on this day.  We had to reschedule due to weather, but we did finally get a nice day.  We started at Olympic Plaza and stayed around downtown for the rest of the session.

Rosie & Mike | Just Us Session | Vancouver

I recently took a trip out to BC with my family. We drove out there from here in Calgary and it quite adventurous. When we did finally get to Vancouver, we stayed with our friends, Rosie & Mike, who absolutely pampered us in their home. I really hope I can return the favor one day.

Mike is a very good friend of mine and, really, my only close friend living in Vancouver. He actually lives in Surrey to be exact. We have been friends since grade 9, when I lived in Surrey and managed to stay in contact all those years sans internet. We used to write each other letters to keep in touch. Remember those? Mike married Rosie soon after I had gotten married and I had only met Rosie once since then when I visited Vancouver for the Olympics, back in February. I really wanted to do a Just Us session with them then, but with the time crunch it was impossible. When I made plans to come out to the lower mainland this summer, I told Mike that we should do a shoot. Rosie was ecstatic to hear this!

Our Just Us session wasn’t really just us, because I brought Michelle to help assist me a bit. Jonas also came along as well. We ended up shooting at a construction site for a while before we moved on to Crescent Beach in South Surrey. In my time living in Surrey and visiting it countless times, I somehow, have never been to Crescent Beach. We got there in time as the sun was about to set giving us really beautiful light.

Here are a few photos from our session that I want to share.

Kim & Thanh | Just Us Session Vancouver

September 30th, 2008

I get a lot of emails from couples who are already married that wish they had photos like my engaged couples get.  I thought, why not?  When I added it to my site, it only took a couple days before I got my first inquiry and it was from Vancouver!  Kim saw Julie & Ray’s [...]

I get a lot of emails from couples who are already married that wish they had photos like my engaged couples get.  I thought, why not?  When I added it to my site, it only took a couple days before I got my first inquiry and it was from Vancouver!  Kim saw Julie & Ray’s engagement/wedding photos on facebook and she contacted me about going out to Vancouver to shoot her and her husband, Thanh.  I was really excited about finally shooting in a different city.  We kind of knew where we wanted to go to shoot, but for the most part we just winged it.  We walked around downtown Vancouver and Granville Island to find some cool places to shoot.  But my favorite spot ended up being in a parkade near Thanh’s work.  Near the end of the night, they both wanted to go to Jericho beach to catch some sunset.  It was a super long Just Us session, but we got lots of great stuff.  Thanks you guys!  We had a blast out there and feel like we’ve made some new friends in as well in the process.  Here are some of my favorites!

Herpal & Baaj – Just Us Session

July 6th, 2008

The very first wedding I ever shot was in 2004. I used a Nikon N70 loaded with fuji reala film. Although my photos may have been laughable at the time, Baaj and Herpal didn’t seem to mind. Maybe it was because we’re friends. It was them who allowed me to get my feet wet with [...]

The very first wedding I ever shot was in 2004. I used a Nikon N70 loaded with fuji reala film. Although my photos may have been laughable at the time, Baaj and Herpal didn’t seem to mind. Maybe it was because we’re friends. It was them who allowed me to get my feet wet with wedding photography and that’s when the passion was lit for me. Baaj and I go way back. Like 1986 way back. We’ve been friends since the second grade and have remained friends ever since. He’s the only person that I have been friends with that long. I wanted to repay them for helping me discover this wonderful career. And of course congratulations on your exciting news! I’ll book you in for February, when the new addition comes :)
