October 9th, 2009

I headed up to Edmonton last week to shoot Sowon and Dean’s engagement session.  Sowon and Dean are getting married tomorrow, so here are just a few of the shots we got from their chilly e-session.  Tomorrow is going to be a great day!

Custom Designed Guestbooks | Calgary Engagement Photography

June 6th, 2009

A lot of clients ask me “what can we do with the photos from our engagement session afterwards?”  The most popular option we have for our clients are our awesome guestbooks.  These guestbooks are not your typical guestbooks you buy at a Michael’s.  These books are customed designed just for you with your engagement photos [...]

A lot of clients ask me “what can we do with the photos from our engagement session afterwards?”  The most popular option we have for our clients are our awesome guestbooks.  These guestbooks are not your typical guestbooks you buy at a Michael’s.  These books are customed designed just for you with your engagement photos in them.  With the old traditional book, do you really think you will ever look at your guest registry again?  Most people will store it in a box somewhere in their basement.  With our books, I guarantee you will put it on your bookself or coffee table and share it with friends who come over.  After all, it’s also got great photos in them!  If you don’t like the idea of people writing in your book, of course we can design it more like an album instead.  Images created by us are meant to be presented in a nice album or book and not left of your hard drive.

I went up to Edmonton last week to meet with some clients, potential clients and also do shoot Helen & Davide’s engagement photos.  We met up in downtown Edmonton in the early evening, trying to take advantage of some beautiful spring light.  We walked around a bit a found our way to city hall.  Too bad there was construction going on in there, because I would have loved to use the whole building.  We still got some really cool stuff and the light in there was like a giant softbox.  We even shot in the underground parkage under city hall where we parked our car.  We made our way to the Shaw Convention Centre where we finished off our session.  Helen & Davide are getting married at the end of the month and I super excited to get my season started by shooting them first!

We finally found a day that was good for the 3 of us to do Janice and Michael’s engagement session.  And the weather really co-operated with us.  J&M knew of this super cool abandoned farm house just off highway 2 in Nisku.  When we go there, there was another photographer there as well doing family portraits.  It was such a super cool place and you can really feel the history.  We are trying to imagine what it must have been like to have lived there 100 years ago.  I am sure it won’t be around for much longer, which is unfortunate, because it was such a cool location.  Their wedding is this Friday in Edmonton.  2 more sleeps and you guys will be married!  Can’t wait.
