JT Images presents the wedding of Vendredi & Vinh. Calgary Wedding Photography.
I am so pumped to finally share with everyone my last wedding of 2012. The year couldn’t have ended on better note. Vendredi (AKA Friday) and Vinh both make me smile. They are one of the nicest and one of the most unique couples I have met. They both share the same interests when it comes to stuff like video games and snowboarding, but the most noticeable interest they have, is their love and respect for each other.
We started the day with a lot of energy with the bridesmaids making the groomsmen do a bunch of silly things, including wear briefs over their pants and dancing to Gangnam Style. It was only after a few other funny games that Vinh was finally allowed to get his bride. After the traditional chinese tea ceremony, we headed down to the First Baptist Church in the beltline. Ryan and I got to the church early to go scout the place out. Wow, this church was huge!! We found a lot of cool nooks and crannies. Good light was hard to find for portraits of Friday and Vinh, but as always, we made it work!
The ceremony was really nice and had a lot of Filipino traditions. The vows were excellent, sweet and really showed who these 2 really are. After they sealed their kiss, Friday & Vinh came back up the aisle dancing away. At this point, I realized the day would be full of silliness, as if the day didn’t start off silly enough! I was laughing the whole time I was shooting and at the same time I was yelling at Vinh to move out of the way, because we was completely blocking Friday. We had to see to her moves too!
It was a bit of a chilly day on this November afternoon. We did some photos outside and then soon we were looking for a place to warm up. We had planned to shoot on the Peace Bridge for sure, but we needed an indoor location as well. Friday & Vinh suggested a little place called Jelly Modern Doughnuts. I had never been there before, but they told me their maple bacon donut was amazing. We had to go there now, not just to shoot, but also to eat some donuts! The staff here were very accommodating to us. Maybe the recognized them as regulars. We got some really good stuff inside and then it was time to bear the cold and head to the Peace Bridge. This was the first time I had shot wedding photos on the bridge. About time if you ask me!
The silliness continued at the reception with their entrances. The rest of the evening was pretty much the same. Lots of laughs, some tears and more laughs!
Congrats Friday & Vinh. Thank you so much for having Ryan and I be a part of your day. You both are amazing human beings. You guys are the reason why I love what I do..
