The Le Family in Hawai’i!November 20th, 2009I have known Cynthia since I was 15 years old when we used to be “Birthday Party Co-Ordinators” at Easy Street. Those were the days I tell ya, making $4.20/hr and serving pizza to 5 year olds. It was actually really fun and we had some great times there. When Cynthia and Buddy heard I [...] |
I have known Cynthia since I was 15 years old when we used to be “Birthday Party Co-Ordinators” at Easy Street. Those were the days I tell ya, making $4.20/hr and serving pizza to 5 year olds. It was actually really fun and we had some great times there. When Cynthia and Buddy heard I was going to be in Hawaii at the same time as them, she asked if I could do family photos for them. Of course I was more than happy to shoot a session in Hawai’i. Like I’d ever say no to that! We shot all these photos right on our beautiful timeshare resort that we own in, Ko Olina O’ahu. Taelienna and Cao were awesome kids to shoot. They were willing to do anything I asked and we had a blast! I know you guys will cherish these family photos for a long time. Kids grow up so fast, love every minute of it. Thanks for the sushi dinner and making me try oysters for the first time ever!

I left my heart on the North Shore.November 9th, 2009It’s no secret to anyone that knows me, I love Hawai’i. But there is something special about the North Shore. I have absolutely no doubts that one day I will live or retire on O’ahu with my family. It’s just a matter of when. For now, I am very lucky to be able to visit [...] |
It’s no secret to anyone that knows me, I love Hawai’i. But there is something special about the North Shore. I have absolutely no doubts that one day I will live or retire on O’ahu with my family. It’s just a matter of when. For now, I am very lucky to be able to visit pretty much whenever I want to, and when I do, I always end up back on the North Shore. From Hale’iwa to La’ie…. I could die there. The miles of sandy beaches, the shops, the people, the pace, the surf, the breeze, the food… its paradise on Earth, literally. Below is a photo of Sunset Beach where the best surfers in the world come to compete and ride huge winter swells. In the distance you can see Ka’ena Point, the most western tip of O’ahu.

Dani & Jon’s are the first 2010 couple to have an engagement session with me. Their wedding will be held in May at the beautiful Silver Tip Golf Course in Canmore. A venue I have yet to shoot in so I am looking forward to it big time. We had to reschedule this session a couple times due to weather. Aren’t we glad we did??? All the snow melted and the temperature was warm, we couldn’t have asked for a better day.

Sowon & Dean were one of the few couples I booked this year over the phone. Anytime I can book a couple over the phone, its a really flattering experience. Sowon did say she was pretty much sold as soon as she found my website. When I did finally meet, Sowon & Dean in Edmonton, I felt that we were going to work very well together. It sure turned out that way! I had never photographed a wedding at the Fantasyland Hotel in West Edmonton Mall before, so I was really looking forward to it. Since their ceremony and reception was at one venue, we had a lot of time to create photos for them. We pretty much shot in and around West Edmonton Mall and got some great images of this gorgeous couple.
Thanks for having me come up from Calgary to cover your big day. I wish you both the best. I look forward to seeing you both again next time I am in town.

I have been meaning to put this wedding on the blog since last week. I finally made it to my computer after a busy wedding and Thanksgiving weekend. Kelly and Mark got married at the beautiful Nakota Lodge (about 45 minutes from Calgary) in September, nestled at the foot of the Rocky Mountains. It was a beautiful autumn day and it couldn’t have been more perfect…. well maybe except for the wind. But even the wind couldn’t ruin K&M’s day. We did all of our photography in and around the lodge. We had many opportunities to take advantage of the beauty that mother nature gave us. Kelly & Mark are at the top of my list as one of the most laid back, most fun and easy going couple I have had as clients. The reception venue decorated by Mary Swaffield from Lavish Designs was stunning, making it one of the nicest decors I have seen so far this year. Photos of the wedding venue will be on her website soon if you want to see her “lavish design”.
Congrats Kelly & Mark! Thank you so much for treating me so well throughout the whole day and being so easy to work with. Your personalities are a perfect match and your love for each other is very inspiring. I am honored and glad to have met you both and have been an important part of your special day.
